The "Sunset Strip" is the name given to the mile and a half stretch of Sunset Blvd that passes through West Hollywood. It extends from West Hollywood's eastern border with Hollywood at Crescent Heights Blvd, to its western border with Beverly Hills at Doheny Dr. The Strip is probably the best known portion of Sunset, embracing a premier collection of boutiques, restaurants, rock clubs, and nightclubs that are on the cutting edge of the entertainment industry. It is also known for its trademark array of huge, colorful billboards and has developed as a hang out for rock stars, movie stars and entertainers. Some of the known spots are the Roxy, Whiskey A Go-Go, Viper Room, as well as famous hotels like the Chateau Marmont and the Mondrian Hotel. In real estate terms, Sunset Strip refers to the homes in the hills above "The Strip." Many celebrities, entertainment executives and professionals reside above Sunset Strip on the Hollywood hills. For Real Estate people Hollywood Hills only refers to the hills that are actually above Hollywood--the ones with the sign. West from there, you have Cahuenga Pass, Mount Olympus, Laurel Canyon, Lookout Mountain, and Sunset Strip. There are more, but that will do for this discussion. It is characterized by winding, narrow streets, and different architectural styles. You can find some relatively affordable homes on some of the smaller lots, but along the ridges and hilltops, you can expect to pay several million dollars for a breath taking view home. With its proximity to Beverly Hills, its relaxed city ordinances, and its amazing views. Homes here are near to the heartbeat of Los Angeles.
